Uke begins by attempting a front choke on tori. Tori responds by thrusting upward with the left hand between uke's hands, and wrapping uke's right arm. Tori continues wrapping motion and places his right hand on uke's right shoulder. Tori continues wrapping motion and grabs his right wrist with his left hand, in a "figure-four" configuration. Tori applies simple upward pressure of the left forearm, which should cross uke's right arm underneath, and slightly uphill from uke's elbow.
Steps
Uke attempts front choke.
Tori shoots left arm vertically up between uke's choking arms.
Tori wraps uke's right arm with tori's left.
Tori places right hand (fingers toward ceiling) on uke's right shoulder.
Tori completes wrapping motion by grabbing his right wrist with his left wrist, in the "figure-four" configuration.
Tori applies pressure upward with his left arm (using the right wrist as a fulcrum) to achieve submission or breakage.
Variations
When tori is shorter than uke, tori may place right hand on uke's upper arm (humerus) and place left arm under the elbow itself.
