RIGHT BLOW, pivot -- HAIR HAMMERLOCK
Description
This technique begins with uke throwing a right blow at tori. Tori blocks with left shuto-uke and pivots underneath the blow, while simultaneously grabbing uke's right hand with his right, and once tori is behind uke, tranferring tori's left hand to uke's hair (or eyes, or nose, or chin). The motion of the pivot and hand-tranfer should contribute to tori pulling uke's head and upper body back, while pushing tori's hips forward in the hammerlock.
Steps
- Uke throws right blow.
- Tori blocks, and grabs uke's arm.
- Tori pivots on right foot, under uke's blow.
- Near end of pivot, tori has moved uke's right hand down to uke's tailbone; tori replaces his left hand with his right.
- With now-freed left hand, tori engages uke's hair from behind, or eye sockets, nose, or chin from the left.
- Tori draws uke's head back with left hand while pushing uke's hips forward with the right hand, placing uke off-balance backward, and controllable.
